Mackay Yard Opening
In June 2021, Raw Metal Corp opened its first regional yard in Mackay, found in the new Industrial hub of Paget, South Mackay. On a 4.5-acre site on the corner of Connors and Crichton’s Road near the Mackay Councils transfer station, the new yard is well placed to service Mackay and Central and North Queensland with scrap metal recycling of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Since opening Raw Metal Mackay has earned a solid reputation with a service focus and understanding the importance of building long term relationships with its customers.
Raw Metal Mackay has invested heavily over the past year with purchases of a transport fleet of hook lift trucks, Marrell and flatbed trucks to offer a wide variety of scrap collection services. We already have a vast number of onsite scrap metal bin customers servicing throughout Mackay.
In June this year, Raw Metal Corp turned on the only metal shredding machine in North Queensland, a testament to our commitment to servicing the region. This is a gamechanger for scrap metal recycling in North Queensland and we are excited by the opportunities that have opened to Raw Metal Corp as a result.
The most crucial factor this metal shredder brings to the region is the ability for Raw Metal Corp to help local Councils, major waste companies and the public to meet their recycling targets NOW! With the increased focus for all levels of government and corporations to meet these stringent recycling targets, we can guarantee that 90% of the scrap metals that we receive in our yard which includes industrial metal waste, cars, household whitegoods for example can be recycled to these required levels.
We are proud to be the local industry leader in the recycling focus in the North Queensland region.

Exporters to the world from Mackay: We recently exported our first shipload of ferrous scrap metal overseas with a 12,000-tonne shipment out of Mackay Harbour. We look to grow this ship-based loading from both of our yards this year.
